vCenter Appliance Tips

Access the Appliance Management,  https://XX.XX.XX.XX:5480

Enable SSH
- under Access enable SSH

Password Expiration
- under Administration > Password expiration settings

- SSO Users change in the Web Client.  Administration > SSO > Configuration > Policies

Reset vCSA 6.7 root password
Getting the error "Exception in invoking authentication handler User password expired."  logging into the vCSA Appliance Management.
- connect to ESXi host that runs vCSA
- reboot vCSA
- when you see the PHOTON screen, press e immediately
- append rw init=/bin/bash to the line starting with Linux
- press F10 to boot
- at command prompt, enter passwd and enter a new password
- enter umount /
- reboot using command reboot -f
- login and disable password expiration
